Harvesting And Cooling

Harvesting is an important step in the journey of fresh produce and we carefully cut and pack our leafy products. After packing into large bulk bins, the produce will be moved immediately to the vacuum cooler located on the farm.

Story Fresh has made significant investments in refrigerated transport and vacuum cooling technology to ensure that product is cooled as soon as possible post-harvest. Our largest cooler is mobile and able to move around the seasonal production sites, following the raw product and cooling up to 12 tonne of lettuce per hour from field temperature to coldroom temperature. The ability to cool all of our cut product within hours of harvest maximises the inherent product quality and shelf-life and is a key reason why Story Fresh products are market leaders.
